Daily walks. Efficient. It increases the amount of calories you burn without exhausting you.

Lifting weights. Efficient. More muscle burns more calories and it gives you the shape you want.

Cutting out carbs. Inefficient. You initially lose more water because stored carbohydrates are water.

Not because you just suddenly lost significant body fat. Hitting your protein goal. Efficient.

It's going to keep you fuller and it's going to protect your muscle while you're losing weight. Endless cardio. Inefficient.

You will burn out and cardio alone will not teach you how to maintain weight loss. GLPs for weight loss. Efficient for the right person.

They can control your appetite and make the rest of your plan easier to follow.

Weight Loss Plateau: Seven Factors to Consider

Read the transcript · 210 words

Here are seven reasons why the scale isn't moving no matter what you're doing. Number one, cortisol. When cortisol is chronically elevated, it is going to communicate to your body, store fat, not burn it.

Number two, insulin. If your insulin isn't regulated, everything you're eating is storing. Number three is going to be growth hormone.

If your growth hormone is declining, your body is not burning fat the way it's supposed to. Number four, thyroid. If your thyroid is underperforming, it is slowing down your metabolism without you even knowing.

Number five, under eating. If you're not eating enough, it's gonna wreak havoc on your metabolism and then it's gonna put your body in starvation mode. Number six, overtraining.

Overtraining all the time is gonna spike your cortisol. That means it's gonna store fat. And number seven, estrogen levels.

Estrogen is responsible for the way your body's storing fat. If you said yes to one of these things, discipline is not what's going on. That's not the issue.

It's how your body's responding to its natural function and thank goodness there is a solution. If you wanna know more about how you can help your body, comment reset down below and I'll send you over our clinic's contact form.

Weight Loss Struggles: Hormones, Diet and Metabolism

Read the transcript · 209 words

I just need more willpower and discipline. Willpower cannot override a hormonal environment designed to store fat. I'm barely eating and I'm still gaining weight.

That is how your body's naturally functioning, that's not just who you are. Undereating will spike your cortisol and just tank your metabolism. And guess what?

Eating less is sometimes exactly what's making it worse. I do cardio every day and nothing is changing. Overdoing cardio will actually keep your cortisol elevated and cortisol will tell your body to hold on to fat right in our bellies.

I just need to find the right diet. If insulin is all over the place, not regulated, same with your hormones, there's no nutrition that's going to fix that for you. And that means you're just solving the wrong problem.

My doctor said my labs are fine, so it must be my lifestyle. Being okay and then being optimal are completely different. If you're just doing a standard panel, that's normally not looking at the whole hormonal picture.

And if you said yes to even one of these, it's not your fault. Comment the word reset down below and I'll personally reach out with our clinic's contact form so you can have a conversation with our MPs.

Perimenopause Symptoms: Sleep, Mood and Weight Changes

Read the transcript · 247 words

If you have any of these symptoms, you might be going through perimenopause and not even know it. If you're exhausted no matter how much you sleep, waking up at 3 a.m. and sweating for no reason, mood is everywhere, you have no idea why, gaining weight, diet didn't change, you have brain fog, you're forgetting words mid-sentence, irregular menstrual cycle, sex drive is gone, hair is thinning, and joints are hurting, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone all start dropping at the exact same time during perimenopause.

When these three things drop, every single symptom that I just listed happens at the exact same time. That's your body's natural response. When it's running low on hormones, it needs to function.

This is where HRT can come in and help. HRT stands for hormone replacement therapy, and it's one of the most powerful tools in women's health that's not very widely talked about yet. It goes even deeper than just feeling better every day.

Estrogen plays such a critical role in protecting your heart, brain, bones, and when estrogen drops without addressing it, you're at higher risk for diseases like osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, and cognitive decline as you're aging. HRT is not just about symptom relief. This is about protecting your long-term health.

If you feel like I'm speaking directly to you, that might be hormones trying to tell you something. Comment the word balance below to learn about hormone health through our clinic at Built to Be Well.

Retatrutide: Side Effects and Suitability Questions

Read the transcript · 222 words

Here's why you should not take retatrutide. Everyone's completely obsessed with retatrutide right now because they're seeing such great results, but I want to be completely honest with you. Here are three reasons why you shouldn't take it.

Number one, if you have a super sensitive nervous system or heart issues. In clinical trials, retta was shown to elevate your resting heart rate by five to ten beats per minute. So if you already struggle with anxiety or have an elevated heart rate, that extra bump could actually make you feel terrible.

Number two, if you're not willing to eat carbs or drink electrolytes daily. Yes, you should eat carbs. Reddha burns through your energy stores fast and it can cause exhaustion.

If you try to starve yourself while taking this, yes, you're going to lose weight faster, but you are going to feel like a zombie. Number three, if you're not hitting your protein goal and lifting weights. Up to 30% of the weight you will lose is going to be muscle and we don't want that.

This goes regardless if you're taking retatrutide or not. You need to hit your protein goals to preserve muscle and lift weights. Also, you're not going to look toned.

You're going to have a skinny fat look and your metabolism is going to tank.

Semaglutide vs Tirzepatide vs Retatrutide: A Comparison

Read the transcript · 193 words

Semaglutide, tirzepatide, retatrutide, what is the difference? These weight loss medications are GLPs that act on your body's receptor. A receptor is a lock on your cell and I want you to think about peptide as something that comes in and just unlocks it.

Semaglutide is first generation. It has one key. It activates GLP-1 which is going to help reduce your appetite and cravings.

You're going to feel full longer. It works great but I want you to think semaglutide as like an iPhone 7. It works but you can do better.

Tirzepatide is next generation. So it's a GLP-1. and it activates GIP.

This does what semaglutide does plus activates GIP. GIP works with GLP-1 to help your body actually break down fat and helps improve your blood sugar. Now we have my favorite retatrutide.

This is a triple hitter. That means it's activating GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon. Glucagon is the game changer.

So what retatrutide does is it increases your resting heart rate. That means you're burning more calories by sitting here doing nothing. Let me know if you have any questions on the difference between semaglutide, tirzepatide, or retatrutide.

GLP-1 Medications and Muscle Loss: Lean Mass Explained

Read the transcript · 161 words

Do GLPs make you lose muscle? I want to clear this up with real data. In a step one clinical trial for semaglutide, about 40% of the weight loss was lean mass.

In the Surmount-1 trial for tirzepatide, it was about 25%. Here's the catch though, lean mass is not just skeletal muscle. It includes water, bone, and organ tissue.

In a recent 2026 study, it showed that while muscle size might decrease slightly, your actual muscle strength and function, those don't worsen. The problem isn't the peptide, It's the people that take the peptide who are eating 500 calories a day, not getting in any protein, lifting zero weights, and being in a deficit for too long.

If you want to keep your muscle while taking GLP, you want to eat about 0.8 to 1 gram of protein per body weight. And I really recommend strength training at least three times a week to preserve that lean muscle mass. Period.
